On this excellent world-beat recording multi-instrumentalist, Prem Joshua, creates a unique synthesis of ancient exotic instruments from India with contemporary Western grooves. A danceable, joyous and upbeat musical journey.
After playing live music for a live trance event in India, both the Dutch keyboardist Maneesh de Moor and Joshua knew that a new sound was born, which they had to bring out on an album. Soon after, they created MUDRA in the silence of the Tuscan hills and the noise of downtown Amsterdam. This CD blends "trancey" analogue keyboard sounds with sitar and ethnic flutes. Featuring the hit "Shivamoon."

The word mudra means "hang gesture" in Sanskrit; the mudras are used in the classical Indian dances, where hands are more expressive than words. They even don't express anything definite, but channel the energy flows. And one really wants to "dance with hands" to the music of Prem Joshua and his friends. You can express everything by their movements: joy of being, sadness, passion, delight, the most intimate words of love… absolutely everything… And it would be more than all the words.
