Originally released by Instinct Records in 1996, Journey to the Sun reflects upon Adham’s meanderings through, and impressions of, an ancient civilization on the brink of modernization. As a fusion of Western technology with Eastern tribal mysticism, the music weaves together a rich tapestry of electronic textures with tanpur, bansuri flute, harmonium, sitar, and tabla. Layered with a number of field recordings made on a DAT recorder, each track on this album is itself a journey into aural vistas and mysterious terrains.
